Pretty simple:

The President didn’t know about the NIE (from August up to this week).

The President didn’t know about the CIA tapes (brings the Nixon tapes to mind).

Bottom line:  The President didn’t know. 

Oh, yeah!  And, Mitt didn’t mention The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints once in his “religion” speech. 

Of course, neither George nor Mitt started any of their statements with “in the interest of full disclosure.”
