Needless to say, I’m a fan of of Charlie Rose. Perhaps it’s the way the guests all seem so relaxed or perhaps it’s because Mr. Rose seems to be so knowledgeable about so many subjects. Or, perhaps, it’s because he’s from North Carolina, my home.
The latest interview with Bill Clinton was a most enjoyable conversation. Although the former President is obviously campaigning for the Mrs., it was most pleasant to hear an intelligent conversation. I think he straddled the line fairly well, while plugging his wife, not bashing the other candidates. I’m sure others will have a different opinion. Quite frankly, I wasn’t as interested in what he had to say about Hillary and her campaign as I was about his life and his latest book.
It’s a shame that while he was in office, most of us were more concerned with his escapades than we were with his intelligence. I may have been seduced by this gentle voice and his sly smile, but it is his intelligence and vision that held my attention. And, maybe it’s because of the holiday season, but I was inspired to do something for someone.
