John Edwards - 2008

Well, I’ve spent most of the past few months looking over the candidates and I’ve decided that my first choice would be John Edwards.

Looking over the lot, I have decided that Joe Biden and Chris Dodd are probably the most experienced and have the best working knowledge of politics in Washington.  While both are more than qualified for the office, I personally feel that they are too valuable to the Senate to be elected President.  I have always believed in the best use of resources and to elect either Biden or Dodd to the presidency would dilute their value to the country.

Joe Biden would be the best Secretary of State this country has seen in quite a while.  Chris Dodd is capable of almost any position in the cabinet or on any Senate committee.  Dennis Kucinich should continue on his path to a Department of Peace, something this world could use.  And, Hillary…. well, Hillary has proved her ability to “work” the Senate (system) through bi-partisan bills.  Richardson could easily move into a key position on education and immigration.

That leaves Obama and Edwards.  Obama has all the right intentions and some ideas that would well serve our country.  I would prefer seeing him become more seasoned and make his run for President in 2016.

Edwards is the man for 2008.  He is best equipped to re-take America from the corporate Kudzu that is taking over our country.  He has the passion of the fight and the experience necessary to lead the fight and win.  His experience as a trial lawyer has seasoned him for battle and taught him the necessity of knowing what cards the other side is holding before going into battle.  I believe his record of working for the average American, either in politics or in the courtroom has proved his intentions and his abilities.

Of course, this is just one vote, and our primary isn’t until February.  I only hope the people of Iowa and New Hampshire take the time to weigh the issues and decide where these wonderful resources running for the office of President could best be used to serve the good of all the people.  After all, isn’t that what they all want…. to make this a better country?  Build on strength.  This isn’t on the job training.  (After the last seven years, we all know that is a flawed concept.)  My preference is that we make the best use of our resources.
