A Room Without The View
OK! So, today Bernie has a rant.
The View, television program, on occasion rises to the opportunity to inform and discuss. However, more and more the “Hot Topics” have been reduced to babble about Britney Spears, her sister, and the other wayward young actresses in Hollywood. We can watch “Entertainment Tonight” or read the tabloids if there is an interest.
The women of The View are among the most articulate and intelligent who have gathered around a table to discuss topical issues. Whoopi Goldberg shines in her new role and outclasses anyone who has sat in the moderator seat. There is far less of the ladies talking over one another (once upon a time it sounded like the Tower of Babel). And, thank goodness, there is far less screaming and name calling. Whoopi can lead an intelligent discussion, giving all parties a fair shake at making a point.
So, what’s up with “Hot Topics” sounding more like “Hollywood Hotties”?
The View has the opportunity to demonstrate that women have a brain and know how to use it. Talking about Hollywood gossip is a waste of their time and mine. It is a waste of intelligence. Why have intelligent, articulate women discussing gossip when the opportunity is available to discuss, debate, and inform?
