Romney Self-Destructs or Self-Deceives
Mitt Romney is self-destructing before our eyes. He can’t tell the truth, when the truth would serve him better. First there was the “I’ve been a hunter pretty much all my life”. Of course, he doesn’t have a hunting license or own a gun. And, now he has admitted that he went hunting two times ever. Wouldn’t it have better served him to say that he was pro-hunting and pro-guns and let it go at that?
Personally, I’m pro-choice, but that doesn’t mean I have to have an abortion. It’s an opinion. And, as far as I can tell, we are so entitled.
But, this last little deceit about seeing his dad march with Martin Luther King, Jr. is about as bad as it gets. It was an obvious attempt to endear himself to the black (voting) population. A failed attempt, I might add. And, for all the figurative language the former governor wishes to use, during a presidential campaign isn’t the time. Again, the more he tried to explain away his delusions, the worse he made it.
Romney, who recently said he liked to watch sports, gave a pathetic example of his figurative language. Obviously he isn’t a baseball fan or a football fan. He used the example “I saw the Patriots win the World Series” doesn’t mean you were really there in the stadium. You don’t have to be a sportscaster to realize that the Patriots and World Series are not a match. So, as Mitt tried to clear up one blunder, he made yet another.
Mitt Romney should realize that he is speaking to the American public and it does matter what he says and how he says it. He has made excuses for each and every blunder and if I might offer one little word of advice…. excuses only satisfy those who make them. You either are a hunter or you are not. And, whether you wish you were or not is irrelevant. You must own a gun (or bow) and have a license to even qualify. Romney was either at the King march with his father or he wasn’t. Obviously, he wasn’t.
With the present world situation, we don’t need another President who has no qualms about lying to the American people whether it is to win favor with the electorate or to lead us into war. Enough is enough.
