The Republican Fat Lady Isn’t Singing in New Hampshire

aboutmccain_picts_1.jpgEveryone has said that New Hampshire is different and less predictable than other states and if there is one thing we can say, it’s that there are no singing fat ladies in that state.

If there has ever been a reversal of fortunes, look at the Republican finishes in New Hampshire.  Romney managed to stay in the middle of the top three, but McCain and Huckabee flip-flopped.  I love it and my dog doesn’t hunt Republicans.  If there is one thing we can say for the immediate future it is that 2008 is going to be a hard fought year among all the candidates of both parties.

There are two things that stand out in my mind as I await the Democratic results, the country is really interested in electing a qualified president and they are all going to exercise the right (and responsibility) to vote.  It’s been said that sometimes you have to hit bottom before you realize you must make a change.  After the past seven years, it’s fairly evident that whether you are a Republican, Democrat, Independent, or Whatever you realize that we have just about scraped the bottom of the barrel and everyone is rallying to have their voices heard.  Everyone is ready for change.  Everyone!  The turn out is as much about our national dissatisfaction with the current President as it about any individual candidate.
