Bush’s Legacy of Peace in the Middle East
Let’s keep this short and sweet.
Bush spent over a week in the Middle East brokering a fantasy peace between Israel and Palestine, his delusional hope for a legacy. There were a few good photo ops, lots of posing, smiling and hand shaking, followed by the inference that Bush could broker the peace deal before the end of his term. That was the first clue that our present administration is clueless and suffering from delusions of grandeur.
A week after his return… ah… Hamas lobbed missiles into Israel, Israel closed the borders, effectively shutting off the people of Gaza from the rest of the world, and today the Palestinians broke through the fence that separates Gaza from Egypt seeking food, water, and life’s essentials.
Israel told Egypt to close the escape route. Egypt said the people were starving. The hole in the wall remains open. Israel is pissed and will probably take action. But, the question is will they engage Egypt?
So, excuse me… but, what peace? What legacy? It’s just more Bushit!
