A “Thank You” to John Edwards
Thank you, John Edwards, for standing for one America, one hope for the future, one shared dream.
We know you will continue your fight against poverty, continue to lead young people to lend a helping hand to those in need, to instill in our young people that service to others is the greatest wealth they can achieve.
We know you will continue to fight for housing for all Americans, for food on every table, for heat in every home in winter, for families who are struggling to make ends meet when jobs are gone, and the homeless who are sleeping in the streets and under bridges.
We know you will continue to fight for fair economic policies, to bring work back to the unemployed worker, to eliminate unfair trade agreements with countries that do not import our products but take our jobs.
We know you will continue to fight for healthcare for the young children of our country whose parents can’t afford insurance. We know you will continue to fight for universal coverage for all people, for quality healthcare for those who served our country.
We know you will continue to fight for education for all Americans. We know you will continue to fight for college and university educations for all America’s children, and continuing education for unemployed workers in need of a new skills.
We know you will continue to stand up for us and give us a voice when no one wants to listen. We know you will continue to stand up for us against the greed of corporate America. We know you will continue to unite our voices and speak for us when we can’t speak for ourselves.
Thank you for fighting our fight, championing our cause, and forcing the rest of America to listen to us. Thank you for giving us a voice that sounded loud and clear from ocean shores to mountains high. Thank you for reminding Washington that the America it represents lives outside the beltway. Thank you for reminding the politicians that “we” are still “the people”.
Thank you.
