Okay, so let’s see how we are faring so far this year…
We lost 17,000 jobs in America.
We lost 39 soldiers in Iraq.
We’ve lost Dennis Kucinich and John Edwards from the Democratic race.
We’ve lost Rudy Giuliani from the Republican race.
Microsoft is wanting to buy Yahoo for $44B.
Exxon earned $40.6B in profit for 2007.
Social security benefits for senior citizens rose by a little more than 2%.
The Fed plans to auction $60B in short term loans to big commercial banks in February.
The banks plan to auction off our foreclosed homes for the rest of the year.
FBI moves in to investigate 14 subprime mortgage lenders.
American citizens move out of houses financed by subprime mortgage lenders.
And, still tonight, homeless veterans are sleeping under bridges and under cardboard boxes on the streets.
Forty-seven million citizens don’t have health care coverage.
