Harold Ford, Jr., Democrat from Tennessee, is the Chairman of the Democratic Leadership Committee. Ford appeared on the Charlie Rose Show last night. I was surprised to see him, but delighted.
Perhaps, there are not many people who are familiar with the young Mr. Ford. He served as a Congressional Representative and lost his bid to become Senator when Bill Frist left office. Rep. Ford fought a good fight for the Senate seat, but was defeated by Senator Bob Corker in the closed senatorial race in Tennessee history. Tennessee is a diehard RED state and it was surprising to see Ford rise to the heights he did. He fought a good, clean fight against all odds. Those of us who campaigned for him remain proud of his accomplishments.
Harold Ford, Jr. has served Tennessee well over his short career. He’s only 36. He’s a handsome and articulate man with his heart and head in the right place. Perhaps, not this year or next, but in the near future, I submit that Harold Ford, Jr. will be making his mark in American politics and like Barack Obama, when Harold Ford, Jr. appears on the scene, people will stop, look and listen.
