Super Tuesday Still Counting Votes

John McCain is pulling in the delegates, but it certainly has not been a sweep.  Mike Huckabee has really surprised me, although I’m still of the impression that he won’t be able to go the distance.  Of course, we don’t know how far “the distance” is any more… at least for the Republicans.  Mitt Romney is picking up speed as the tally begins to head west.

Barack and Hillary are running so close to one another that it’s going to take a few more states before we have a real clue of the Democratic national candidate.  Although the reports seem to be emphasizing how many states each candidate has won, we must remember that it’s the number of delegates that will count.  Barack Obama is closing the delegate gap.

California votes have not been counted and it seems that the pendulum will swing from the west coast state.  It will be interesting to see how the Democrats divide and just as interesting to see which of the Republicans takes all their delegates.

If there is one thing I have concluded from the Democratic primaries and caucuses that have been counted, it is simply that we can’t conclude anything…. yet.
