What will the Weekend Primaries Produce?

After Super Tuesday, the Democratic candidates made a quick stop by “work” to cast a vote for the stimulus package and headed back out to stomp a few more stumps.  There are caucuses in Nebraska, Washington and Maine and a primary in Louisiana this weekend.  The Virgin Islands will also produce 9 delegates.  By Monday 238 delegates will have been divided between Clinton and Obama.

On less than Super Tuesday, February 12, the District of Columbia, Virginia and Maryland will hold primaries and disburse 237 more delegates.

That puts another 475 delegates into play… not Super Delegates, just plain old everyday delegates (I think).  With an additional 475 divided between and added to the candidate’s totals will the Democrats produce a “front runner”? Or, will the party continue the race to Denver?

According to CNN without the Super Delegates being counted Obama is in the lead.  With Super Delegates counted Clinton is leading the way.  Could it be that Super Delegates are going to determine the Democratic nominee?  Well, why not?  If the Supreme Court can elect a President with a 5-4 vote, why not let a few super delegates select the next Democratic nominee?  I’m sure they are called “super” for a reason.

For all the “get out and vote” hype, do we really have a voice in the nomination?
