Hillary Clinton’s Asbestos Pantsuit Melts Down

Ladies, don’t fall for the whining.  I have fought for women’s rights my entire life.  And yes, I’m about the same age as Hillary Clinton.  There are many of us who have fought for equal pay, less sexual discrimination, and the ability to go to work and have the respect of our co-workers.  But, Hillary is preying on the hearts of women in a way that is not in the spirit of women’s rights.  She is playing the old game of manipulation that woman used to play to get what they wanted.  It is so out of style and so unbecoming.  And, no one should be gullible enough to fall for it.

Hillary bragged that her pantsuit was made of asbestos.  She bragged that the heat in the kitchen wasn’t too hot.  And, yet today, she is making allegations that NBC/MSNBC has repeatedly made remarks that are demeaning to women, in particular to her.  Well, the heat in the kitchen is firing up.  You can’t hide behind asbestos.  Everyone knows the dangers there.

No woman who has spent forty years working and taking the heat, bumping her head on the glass ceiling, fending off inappropriate comments by male co-workers, and succeeding has done so by whining or being offended.  Earn respect.  Do the work.  Prove yourself.  And, let the comments fall where they may.  Ignore the comments and when they get no reaction, believe it or not they will stop.  And, we, as women will be stronger for it.

I was so close to going with Clinton as my candidate of choice after Edwards suspended his campaign.  But, in light of the whining, the enjoyment of being offended, and the obvious attempt to manipulate the voters through a “poor Hillary” campaign, I guess I’m going to have to take a harder look at Barack Obama.  Quite honestly, I’m getting tired of changing my placards in the front yard.

The fact is that Hillary has been our standard bearer since Gloria Steinem got married.  And, now, she is has succumbed to the ways of the old woman’s world.  Manipulate.  Cry.  Stomp your feet.  Tantrum.  And, if that gets you elected, we are in for a long four years.
