Barack Obama Sweeps LA, NE, WA, VI

Barack Obama makes a Saturday sweep.  In all of the four contests, Senator Obama pocketed the majority of the delegates.  But, with the delegates apportioned based on district totals, will Barack close the overall gap between him and Hillary?

It’s hard to tell who is ahead at this point.  The Super Delegate issue is the wild card that will possibly be the swing vote that determines the party nominee.  However, according to the citizen voters and caucus goers, Obama is ahead by a nose.  Put into play the Super Delegates who have committed, and Hillary’s nose grows.

So, what do we know?  Nothing more than we did before Super Tuesday.  I suppose we will wait to see what Maine brings tomorrow, although those 34 delegates will do little to clear the path for a front runner.  At this point, every single delegate counts, so tomorrow may add weight to one candidate or the other.  Or, Maine could do as so many other primary and caucuses have done.

One for Barack.  One for Hillary.  Another for Barack.  This one for Hillary.  And, back and forth.  It’s going to be a while before someone takes the front seat.  But, either way, this is a good year for the Democratic Party.
