Wisconsin Cheesey Gets Down and Dirty: Clinton Goes Negative

Well, it had to happen sooner or later.  Desperate times call for desperate measures.  So, once Obama started gathering momentum the Clinton campaign started throwing cheeseballs.

It’s sad that the race for the nomination has so rapidly degenerated over the past week, but it was inevitable in a close race.  Maybe Hillary should have held onto Patti Solis Doyle.  Since her departure the Clinton machine has been tossing grenades at Obama that are flying back on her faster than a boomerang.  The Democratic Party has enjoyed about as much of a good time standing united for one election as is feasible.  It was just a matter of who would dip down and dirty first.

Today in Wisconsin, the Clinton campaign pulled out all stops and tried to drop a Daisy Cutter on the Obama camp.  Unfortunately, they were off target.  The best Clinton could dredge up was that Obama would not agree to debate in the state.  Hillary usually looks pretty good in that venue, but let’s get real.  I have watched every debate (both parties) mostly because of the writers’ strike and the overflow of reruns.  By Debate III, I was almost ready for a little “reality tv.”

The debates were good for “face time” but, all in all, the policy differences are so minimal that we may as well confess that the winner will be decided on likeability.

I was hoping that Hillary would regroup over the weekend and regain her composure, but I suppose that’s out of the question now.  Her most recent ad in Wisconsin is as disjointed and negative as it can get.  Unfortunately, Hillary chose to make statements about Obama that reminds this old southern girl of the Bible thumper next door quoting scripture.  Pick and choose.  Add and take away.

Right now, I would like to see a solid frontrunner emerge for the Democrats…. and maybe the Rapture for my neighbor.
