Face Time: Mike Huckabee on SNL
Mike Huckabee has been short on media coverage of late, so tonight he made his Saturday Night Live debut. Any coverage is better than none.
Following a spoof on the Austin Democratic debate, Tina Fey opened the first live SNL since November with Steve Martin bounding onto the stage, getting the first laughs of the new “live” season.
A few skits later, including “What’s that Bitch Talking About?”, a song by Carrie Underwood (that was less than impressive, but I’m not a country music fan), Mike Huckabee appeared on Weekend Update, explaining that he didn’t understand mathematical impossibilities. The appearance may be an opening for a new career. Huckabee showed that he has a sense of humor and can laugh at himself, something we haven’t seen in other candidates. Maybe, that’s why we consider them “serious candidates.”
One thing you have to say about Mike, he has a sense of humor. His name wasn’t mentioned in the opening credits as a guest, although every SNL watcher had to know he was making an appearance. Let’s face it, he’s had more mention of his name linked with SNL this week than with the Republican Party.
Golly good showing, Mike. Nice to see your human side…. Now, expect a miracle!
