Vermont for Obama, Pictures and Updates from Dallas

vote1It has already been announced that Obama took Vermont handily.

That said, a friend from Dallas, said he went to vote at around 4:30 p.m. and found a line that extended outside the building.  As he approached the polling station in a gym area at a local shool, the supporters were just beyond the magic line still carrying signs and reminding people of the names of their favorite candidates.

Ordinarily, by 4:30 the voting process would have slowed to a crawl.  But today, it seems that was not the case.

Once out of his car and approaching the entrance to the door, my friend who was kind enough to think to take his camera with him, said he was stunned to see a line that extended outside the building.  And, as he stopped to take a snapshot, it seemed that people were still lining up.

Reports from workers inside the polling place said that there had been a steady flow of voters and apparently they were still coming.  At the time of my contact’s visit, there were approximately four voters at the Republican table and the vote2remaining voters, including the line outside were heading for the step one of the Democratic Texas Two Step.

Voting done, I received these pictures before my friend left home to go back to tonight’s caucus.  It’s an interesting process and a bit confusing to me.  But, it seems like a natural way to decide if you are a Texan.  I hope to hear more following the caucus.

UPDATE:  Caucus:  Minimum of two city blocks lined up for tonight’s caucus.  Friend is waiting for doors to open.  Said he has voted at this precinct for over ten years and has never seen anything like it.  And, as he is approaching the the line, the people are still coming.
