McCain’s Nightmare: It’s the Economy, Stupid

John McCain’s solution to economic woes is Community Colleges who could train drivers and employees for Chic-Fil-A.  That was his response to a question from a person employed by the chicken restaurant when asked what he thought could be done to get the economy moving in the right direction.  He went on to say that we have a problem with foreclosures and job loss, but the only solution he offered was  a community college education.  DUH!

The War in Iraq was his ticket to ride to the White House, so he thought, and now that we have turned our attention to trying to buy food for our families and pay for enough gas to get to work… for those who still have a job, John McCain is talking about community colleges.  Don’t get me wrong.  Community colleges are wonderful vehicles to learning job skills.  But, what about solutions for the people who have graduated from their local Community College?  What about the people who have B.A.’s and B.S.’s from four year colleges and universities?  What about all those unemployed people with masters degrees?  And, what about those Ph.D.’s?

Even with the fast track that community colleges offer with their two year programs, the community college answer won’t hold chicken grease.  Sorry, John.  You need to know more about economics than how to fry to a chicken or having read Wealth of Nations.
