Obama is Running for President of the United States of America

Over the past several days Obama has apparently become aware of Clinton’s rue to lure voters to her.  Today he has repeatedly told those in Mississippi that he has no aspirations to the office of VP.  He is leading the race for the nomination of the Democratic Party and he intends to stay in the lead and take the race…. even if it goes all the way to Denver.

Thank goodness!  Obama has at last responded to the Clinton dream team trickery.  And, as to whether he would ask Senator Clinton to be his running mate, well… he’s not giving her the nod…yet… and he may not.  Thank you very much!

According to Reuters, Obama ridiculed the notion set forth by Clinton

“I’m not running for vice president. I am running for president of the United States of America,” Obama added. “I am running to be commander in chief.”

That’s about as clear as it gets.  No one can say he wasn’t clear on that issue.  And, about Clinton’s comments

“I don’t know how somebody who is in second place is offering the vice presidency to somebody who is in first place,” Obama, an Illinois senator, told supporters. The crowd booed when he mentioned Hillary’s idea.

And, in return to the absurd notion, Obama threw a couple of punches of his own, saying

Obama said the former first lady was playing a political game, denigrating his abilities at the same time she promoted the idea of placing him in a secondary role.

“I do not believe Senator Clinton is about change because in fact this kind of gamesmanship — talking about me as vice president, but maybe he’s not ready for commander in chief — that’s exactly the kind of double-speak, double-talk that Washington is very good at,” he said.
