Mike Huckabee seems to be offering the olive branch to the McCain campaign, suggesting that he can help bring the evangelicals to the McMaverick run for the White House.

Of course, Cowboy Bush believes he can do the same.  But, there is one difference.  The cowboy is going to Crawford in January and it is looking more and more as if Huckabee still wants to go to Washington. 

It’s a long shot, but Huckabee stayed well beyond the time when the math had turned to miracles.  But, there may have been a method to the madness.  He got his name before the American citizens.  And, let us not forget that he actually won the Iowa caucus.  He may not have gained enough votes to put him on the ticket, but he may have gained enough recognition from the fundamentalists to force him into the second slot. 

Could it be that Huckabee stayed in the race beyond his welcome and beyond the math, not expecting a miracle, but expecting a new job come January?  I’m not talking about the White House job.  I’m talking about the role of Vice President. 

After all, a paying job (something Huckabee is currently without) as Vice President could catapult him into the first slot on the next run.
