Hawks Visit Iraq, Cheney and McCain Pleased with Progress

Cheney proclaims

“I think it’s been a difficult, challenging but nonetheless successful endeavor.”

 Later

“I come away with a sense that there has been significant progress since I’ve been here 10 months ago,” he [Cheney] said.

He also said the next U.S. president should make sure that U.S. troops remain in Iraq.

McCain

Obviously, Cheney loves the idea of McCain’s pledge to keep troops in Iraq ad infinitum.  Senator John McCain arrived in Baghdad on Sunday in an “unannounced visit”.  It was stated that his visit was a “surprise” for security reasons.

Okay.. so Iraq is safer after five years of war?  If that is true, why are all our politicians sneaking around for “security reasons”?  And, why is McCain dressed up like G.I.Joe as he talks to General Petraeus?

Maybe because 5 years into the war, the U.S. has lost almost 4000 soldiers, that’s 800 a year.
