Call Now! Or Send Americans A Jar of Vaseline

Read the Senate Bill

There isn’t much time. The vote is tonight at 7:30 pm ET.

The NEW Bill includes too much excess to be specific to the problem we are facing. Tax cuts for a few companies (coal, in particular) and reports on how we got into this mess due next June. There is too much wiggle room for the felons to escape and allowing tax cuts for coal companies has little to do with Americans getting screwed by the greed of Wall Street.

The truth is that the Senate, both sides of the isle, has decided to confuse the issue by adding a little of this and a little of that… none of which should be included in the Bill.

We know something needs to be done. We know that times are hard. But, let’s take a look at what the Senate has done to something that should be straightforward. They have added a few “friends with benefits” here and there, all in the interest of you and me. The only package left they can send to Main Street is a jar of vaseline.

There is not one American who honestly thinks it is best to do absolutely nothing. And, for all the talk that doing something is better than doing nothing, this Bill is not the answer. There are other experts in the economics field who have offered far better plans that address middle America. We need time to discuss and debate these issues before we had the key to the kitty over to Paulson and friends. Remember, he was CEO of Goldman Sachs while the mess was being made. What would make any rational person believe giving him the key to the printing presses will solve the problem?

Call, fax, email your Senators now! And, since we are pretty sure that the Senate is going to try to slide this one through while the rest of us are still talking about winning in the House, start calling your Representatives NOW! This Bill will be on the top of the agenda for the House, possibly by tomorrow.

Remember, we control the entire House right now. Every seat in the House is up for grabs in November. If we fail to stop our Senators from selling us out, we can definitely affect the votes in the House.
