Going green is the way of the future. In fact, going green is the future.  Residential solar panels have come down in price, not as much as most would like, but they are becoming more and more affordable.

When considering a home solar power system there are a few things to remember.  First, check out the company who sells the solar panels.  Know the brands of solar panels you are interested in.  Determine the reputation of the company buy contacting some of its customers.  Check the certification of the company and do your homework.  For a complete list of things to check before signing the contract for a home solar power system visit Cheap Solar Panel

Even though residential solar panels are becoming more popular there are areas of the country where the investment will have a higher return on the investment.  As a general rule, the farther south you are the more benefit you will receive from the sun’s natural energy.  The cost of the home solar system will be dependent on the number of residential solar panels required to meet the needs of the household.  In some cases, depending on the size of the house and the geographical location the price of purchase and installation may be affordable today.  In other areas the cost of the solar panels has not sufficiently been reduced to provide a good return on investment, as yet.  However, with more and more emphasis on going green the cost of purchase and installation should  be dropping in the next few years.

For those who are ready to begin the process of going green with residential solar panels the federal government is offering tax credits that can make some home improvements worthwhile before 2016.  Additionally many states are offering tax credits and some companies are offering rebates.  Before dismissing the idea of upgrading to solar powered electricity, check with your state for tax credits that may be available.
