President Obama and the Republicans Face to Face in Baltimore

by sinde on January 29, 2010

In a rare face to face meeting today in Baltimore, President Obama and representatives of the Republican party in the House asked and answered questions while occasionally lecturing one another, disputing one another, and sounding much like Parliament (for those who love those raucus meetings in the U.K.).

This is worth watching if you can make it through the dog commercial.

Just when it looked as if there may be room for dialogue the Republican House representatives issued a scathing statement about the meeting.  Apparently, just when we thought they had the guts to say whatever it is they want to say to the President’s face, they run behind closed doors to issue a statement.  (For soap opera watchers, the Repugs are like Ridge Forrester on “The Bold and the Beautiful,” talks a good game until he is face to face with the adversary.)
