Sarah Palin began her book tour today in Grand Rapids, Michigan, just one day after the airing of Palin’s less than interesting interview on Oprah.
Speculation abounds as to why Sarah Palin has written her rogue review. Is Sarah trying to set the record straight? Of course, according to the McCain campaign team the book is filled with fallacies. Perhaps Sarah is going rogue now that the bridle is off and the bit is out of her mouth.
Or, is Sarah testing the waters for 2012, the year the world ends according to the Mayans? Did the Mayans foresee Sarah Palin in our futures? Which could be worse, the Mayans version of 2012 or the election of Sarah Palin to some high national office?
Or, maybe Sarah just needs the money. The book, the book tour, the television appearances…. what we will do for money.
OOPS! That was Jon and Kate Plus 8. It’s amazing how easy it is to confuse news and reality with “news” (wink! wink!) and scripted reality.
Sarah signs books in Grand Rapids. Ah, that’s the clip.
The truth is probably that the Palin’s need the money. Let’s face it. They are taking advantage of every golden opportunity. Why would Todd Palin return to the north country to work in the frigid ice and snow or spend his summer days as a fisherman/fishmonger when Sarah can sign her name to a manuscript and bring home the bacon. Todd can fry it up in the pan.
No one is faulting either adult Palin for taking advantage of the opportunity to cash in on a failed political career. It is the American way. Let’s just hope the book is more interesting than the interviews. They have done little to enhance a political future for Sarah. In fact, if anything the cutesy, down home, yarn spinning, winking and blinking Sarah has proved that she can be vicious in her pronouncements of perceived injustices.
For BernieHund’s sake, I do hope this is the last we see of the Palins. We can’t take another reality show.
